Morning light filters through translucent resin panels, softly illuminating the stairwell while accentuating weathered wood cladding that envelopes the space. Painted structural steel, floating wood stair treads and stainless steel accents reinforce a nautical influence.

The Lake Union Floating Home balances modern design with a thoughtful response to lakeside living, where strategically composed solids and voids maximize views, natural light, and spatial flexibility. The primary bedroom is designed as a sanctuary, floating above the activity of lake life. Here, multi-slide glass doors allow the indoor-outdoor line to dissolve, while framing picturesque views across the water. A calm material palette and soft textures take their cues from dappled sunlight, shoreline landscapes and airy skies.

The dining banquette features custom woodwork, durable outdoor fabric and a sculptural Bocci pendant fixture, echoing the home’s layered approach to function, durability and beauty.

The kitchen layers silvery cabinetry, shimmering backsplash tiles, durable quartzite countertops with warm wood accents, harmonizing seamlessly with the yakisugi wall cladding in the stairwell beyond.
