Designed to bring residents together in a shared space, the communal kitchen supports multiple activities. With natural light pouring in through large windows residents cook, learn healthy nutrition, and develop communication skills via refrigerators’ whiteboards. The island, built of natural materials, is at dining table height of 30” to foster inclusivity. A Tree of Life mural is the room’s anchor and was created by local mosaic artist, Rachel Rodi. Based on Willow Grove’s oak tree logo, it symbolizes the connection felt when solid branches and individual leaves grow from the same strong roots.
